Jasprico Dobermanns is owned by Paul and Alison Richardson we have always had Dobermanns but have only been showing for 4 years, and what luck we have already had.

 Amber

Along came Amber , our first experience with Dobermanns was when we were helping one of our friends out who had recently split from her partner who was a up and coming jockey. She moved in with us and brought along her baby and her Dobermann Amber.

Amber aged 10 months was a beautiful bitch and she really made an impact on us, Amber was very demanding so much so that she wouldn’t sleep alone and keep us up for nights on end, Paul took to sleeping downstairs with her just to allow the baby to get some sleep. When the time came for the friend to move she couldn’t take Amber due to renting property, we would have loved to keep Amber but she needed more than we could give her with our work commitments, we made the hard decision to find her the perfect home which is exactly what we did, Amber went to live with a film producer.

 Jed

Jed formally known as the escape artist, we took Jed on from friends who had just had a baby and felt they could no longer look after Jed he was 5 at the time. Jed was gentle giant and boy did he use this to his advantage the higher you built the fence the quicker he would get over it Jed spent more time in the neighbours gardens and houses than ours. We woke one morning and noticed Jed wasn’t his self and on checking him over we noticed a l lump on his side

panic set in and we took him to the vet, the vet decided that he should take a biopsy from the lump and Jed was very brave. After a couple of days we were asked to go back to the vets as our fears were conformed and Jed had cancer, the vet operated and took away the lump he thought that Jed had a good chance of pulling through sadly we lost him a week later Alison took him to the vets as he was bloated and a decision was made to have Jed put to sleep as the cancer was spreading fast and was very aggressive at this stage. Jed left a big hole in our lives and he will always be remembered.

Jasper

Well I was having a well deserved lie in on Saturday morning when the phone rang a friend of ours had just been to the local kennel where he discovered there was a male Doberman aged 1 year who needed to be re homed, well you guessed it I rang the kennel and was told that the dobermann would be better off going to a new home that weekend as he just loved adult company and had been stressed when left alone the owner’s of the dog were paying for his keep until a home could be found. So off I went to the kennel and was introduced to Jasper. He was very friendly but his coat was in bad condition the owner of the kennel explained that he had a coat problem and would need veterinary treatment for the rest of his life one of the reasons why the previous owners had decided to part with him. Well I just couldn’t leave the dog there so I took him home; Paul was working and knew nothing about our new family member. I will never forget the day Paul meet Jasper for the first time he walked into the house took one look at him and said that is going back !!!!!!!!!! at which stage Jasper took a run and jump at Paul and the bound was made. We continued with the veterinary treatment but I also used a baby shampoo and my secret ingredient on his coat and with in 3 months he was off the medication and his coat was in great condition. Jasper became the baby of the family and he was a pleasure to own he loved the simple things in life like Sunday’s dinner and a cup of tea. We took Jasper for a veterinary check at which stage we discovered he had three fused disk in his spine, this was not what we wanted to hear. We were given two choices one was to have him sent to Edinburgh to be operated o but there was chance that he would be paralysed the other was to leave him and cut down exercise and use a harness when out walking. We made what I now know to be the right decision we choose to leave it and see how things progressed Jasper occasionally needed pain killers but not every day and some times not for months he enjoyed his life and was a pleasure to have as a pet every one loved him and he never barked yes I know hard to believe but he never did. The dreaded day came when we got up and Jasper was having problems walking so we took him to the vet he was 5 years old at the tome the vet said well can you remember when I told you he would loose his mobility well that time has come, we had to decided what would be the best for Jasper. We had a decision to make we did take him home and said we would go back to the vets on the Monday driving home with a heavy heart we just couldn’t believe the time had come for our special friend. Jasper was very quite over the week end by the Sunday he was becoming brighter and by the Monday he was jumping about we just couldn’t believe what we were seeing and the vet was also amazed when we went to see him. Jasper lived another 5 years with some pain relief we had to let him go when he lost the use of his back legs a decision that was nearly made 5 years before. There will never be Jasper. Our affix was inspired by Jasper.

MAX

CH Purroma Dark impression at Jasprico

It had been three years since we lost Jasper and Alison was doing her degree it was the week before Paul’s Birthday and Alison was looking in the yellow paper as she was thinking about buying Paul a dog she noticed an add for a 14 week old male puppy Doberman and rang the number the lady said she had just sold the dog!!!!!!!!!!!!! she asked Alison lots of question about why she wanted a Dobermann where we lived and she then said you don’t live far from his breeder and then she thanked Alison for the enquiry. The phone rang 15 min later and the lady asked us to go and see the dog we thought this was strange as she had said he was sold, but she said that the people who were buying him were not the ideal home and she wasn’t able to keep him due to going back to work full time, we agreed to go and see the dog. when we got there we were greeted by Max and we just thought what a stunning dog. The lady asked us what we thought and we said we felt that we could give him the home he deserved Max came home with us. We contacted the breeders Steve and Elaine Rome of Purroma Dobermann’s and we were invited down to see them and we took Max along it was then that we were introduced to the wonderful world of showing and Max started his show career Steve Rome was showing him at the time Max gained best puppy in breed at his first show. Mia

Trystorme Boogie Woogie at Jasprico

Mia is our latest addition to the family, it was suggested by a very clever person he knows who is he and we are indebted to him for his suggestion that Margaret Young use Max on her Trystorme bitch Trystorme Intuition, after consultation with Mick and Irene Pagan the decision was made and the mating was done. On May 22 2006 the puppies were born all twelve of them. Margaret had chosen four pups from the litter her pick of the litter and she had selected two boys and two girls but short listed to one boy and two girls. Paul and Alison went up to see the pups at 7 weeks old and the one that really jumped out at them was Mia, but to be honest we were really spitting hairs to choose as the litter were all very balance and all very nice, a decision was made that day that we could not let any of the three pups go so Margaret keep Trystorme Beezie Madden ( Inca )  one of the bitches and Trysorme Brigadoon ( Howie )  the dog and Paul and Alison took Mia, we now think that we made the right decision that day as already the three pups have reserve tickets yes all three of them. Mia, started the ball roiling taking the reserve ticket at Border Union this year 2007 under breed specialist Mr G Ingham Howie followed the week after at Blackpool with his reserve ticket from all rounder Derek Smith. Then Inca followed through with her reserve ticket at the Welsh Kennel Club under breed specialist Derek King. Mia also got best puppy bitch from Mr Louis Pinto Teixeira at Championship Show Birmingham National Dog Show. Mia also got best puppy in breed at SKC mat 2006 FROM Judge Mr Joe Kirk. All three youngster have been consistently placed at Champs Show and Mia, also gained Best in Breed under breed specialist Nigel Morgan, she also took best Working Group and Reserve Best in show from Anne Arch in May 2007 at just 12 months. Mia, took best of breed and best in the working group under breed specialist John Christie and then went on to win Best in show from Mary Fallas at Hartlepool in Oct 2007. Howie has also had a Reserve Best in Show and a Best in Show at open show level and Inca Reserve Best in Show From Frank Cane. Mia took the reserve CC under Judge Winnie Mee IN May 2008 starting the year off well at Championship shows.

We have only been showing for 5 years but those 5 years have been fantastic we have achieved far beyond our expectations, we have made some fantastic friends and we would like to thank those people for their support and encouragement you know who you are.

The Future

The Trystorme litter has been very successful we will be repeating the mating at the end of 2007 thanks Margaret for believing the Breah and Max can do us proud again. We are also very excited about the Jakarta mating of 'Terrymas Sixth Sence at Jakarta ShCM JW' and Max, thanks for choosing our boy Fiona.

Mia, Howie and Inca will be campaigned in 2008 and Max the Champ will also be putting in a few appearances.
